Drumless practice that will help you
develop natural "feel" for odd meters,
grooves & metric modulation
I strongly believe that written patterns or grooves are not enough of a concept for you to feel comfortable within odd time signatures, especially as a beginner. Therefore, I created a method that focuses more on developing your spacial awareness and applying various subdivisions within the odd meters.
While there are excellent books and methods that target this subject from a drum set perspective, I wanted to create a couse for a wider and more diverse audiences, including all instrumentalists, to approach and practice odd meters.
The course is built around the hand gestures to keep track of the time signatures (3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 9/4) while you metrically modulate by counting or vocalising various subdivisions; 2,3,4,5 note grouping at various speed alongside the metronome.
No drums, no sticks, all you need is a metronome or a click device on your smart phone. Drumless method helps you practice anywhere you want!
This course is not just for musicians but any instumentalists of all levels, from the beginners to the pros. All you need is a metronome, your hands and your voice. The practice does not require advance independence or coordination skills.
The course introduces a more of a 'mental' practice approach which is crucial for you to visualise and develop a natural feel for grooves and over-the-bar line drum fills made famous by Vinnie Colaiuta, Billy Cobham, Tony Williams, Matt Garstka etc.
Your sense of time will increase and subsequently your comfort in grooves and solo creation will expand so will your mastery of polyrhythms and coordination.
You will get access to this course for life after making a one off payment.
